Member Spotlight: Daniella Lopez Valdez

I have always been an advocate for my Brownsville community. Learning about the digital divide from my friend and founder of Connect BTX, Josue Plaza, during our Leadership Brownsville sessions, I became more aware of the internet connection disparity in Brownsville.

It has always been a goal of mine to work to bridge the income inequality gap, and this digital divide only heightens the issue. I believe that in this day and age the internet is a human right. In order to function in our modern world, we need access to proper, affordable, high speed internet access to be productive citizens of our community. I am honored to be a part of a team of young individuals who are willing to work hard to bridge the digital divide.

Being a member of Connect BTX means being on a team of individuals with progressive ideas who are willing to look at every detail to make sure we make a difference in our community. It is a true honor to be a member of Connect BTX.
